Local Sounds is excited to announce that Local Sounds TV has started posting the media coverage from the 2009 Madison Area Music Awards.  The MAMAs also mark the debut coverage and/or “broadcast” of Local Sounds TV.

While we admit this took a little while to process (and we apologize!), this was the first major project for Local Sounds TV and needed to work out all the initial kinks.  We anticipate less of a wait for future projects, including the soon-to-be LSTV News, a regular newscast segment that features music news, reviews and interviews around the Madison area.  Watch for the first episode(s) to be posted later this year.

The MAMAs will host their Second Annual MAMAs on the Terrace event on
Saturday, July 25th at the Memorial Union.

• Sunspot (Video of the Year)
• VO5 (Cover Band of the Year)

The fun begins at 8 PM and this is a free show.

There was much excitement about the return of Rick’s Cafe as Local Sounds Magazine and the debut of Local Sounds TV! We were impressed with how many artists were in line for TV interviews! We hope to have the coverage up on localsoundstv.com as soon as we can!

The Madison Area Music Awards will once again be hosting a series of after-parties featuring several different genres.  The parties will take at various clubs around Madison after the 6th Annual Madison Area Music Awards ceremony on May 9th at the Barrymore Theatre.  They start roughly around 10:00/10:30pm.

One of those parties is the Hip-Hop After-party at the Majestic Theatre on King Street.  The party will be headlined by Madison’s own Know Boundaries, along with dumate, Stink Tank.  Lucha Libre will start the evening off.

There is a $7.00 cover at the door.  It’s an all ages show.

Other after-parties include Rising Gael at the Alchemy, The Blueheels and Jentri Collelo at the Cafe Montmartre, Whore du Jour at the Frequency, Baghdad Scuba Review at Mr. Roberts, Glass Ghosts and Cemetery Improvement Society at the Inferno, and DJ Amos Smith and DJ Mike Carlson at the Great Dane Hilldale.  More details can be found on the MAMAs website at http://www.themamas.org/2009_awards_show.php.

Local Sounds is proud to announce that it will once again have a presence at this year’s Madison Area Music Awards on May 9th, 2009 at the Barrymore Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin.

As usual we will be set up in the lobby near the doors to the theatre.  For those of you who have been to the MAMAs in the past, you’ll know right where we are!  Feel free to stop by and say hi!  There will be a handful of Local Sounds representatives on hand to provide information, sell MAMAs merchandise, and answer your questions.

This year we will have a few announcements to make!  The Madison Area Music Awards has become a sort of staple location for Local Sounds to unveil new services and announcements to the public.  This year looks to be one of the best yet.
